Hi...

Hi There..

i know it's really been a long time after i am visiting this blog again to make a post.. after graduating to 11g,OBIEE girl dressed with lots of added cosmetics and made lot of new friends to its suite in this span.. as a fan, myself was so busy in understanding this girl's taste and where it is heading to....
this reminds me "A women may be misinformed, mislead, unclear, misguided, and even downright stupid..but she is never ever wrong. -Someone"
 its rough road but still its evolving..after dating this girl for past few years i am trying to take certification of association from oracle ..so expect a new post soon here with what they are testing .... don't forget to wish me ;)

Cheers!

OBIEE certification 1z0-526

Hi there,
i thought these lines would be helpful for anyone preparing Oracle BI Foundation 10.1.3 Essentials exam ( 1ZO-526), I have appeared for this exam recently and cleared it.This below information is given based on my memory for your reference in preparation .

About The Exam
This exam covers basics of implementation. syllabus is vast , you can check here (http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=41&p_org_id=15942&lang=US&p_exam_id=1Z0_526#3)

if you want to score good you should be thorough in basics of implementation in terms of OBIEE application and oracle recommended practices.Difficulty of exam is Average, Passing score 61%.I felt Timing and good understanding of basics are the key to clear.

After my examination i just taken a look at topics suggested by oracle and keep counting on # of questions from each topic(sorry cant remember any questions now,excuse for my bad memory), to my surprise they covered almost everything inTopic list! Many were from basics and best practices.So, there is no shortcut,if you want to achive top score you should scan and understand all above said topics.

next to topics is Timing, Total # Of Questions to answer are 70 and Time is 90 minutes..,i.e about 77.14 secs/Question, which is fair enough to select a best Answer but not in other two cases.The good part is i got about 50% of Questions from 'choose the best Answer' questions.In Choose Two /Choose Three Answering Type questions if you are not sure,i suggest mark the question for review(option will be there on top right of the exam screen),which can be reviewed before finishing the exam.

How to Change OBIEE URL address

Intended audience : All Siebel Analytics Developers, Administrators

Requirement : Siebel Analytics/OBI application to be accessed as http://servername (e.g. : http://localhost/ )instead of http://server/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard

For more details refer here
Level : Medium
Solution :
Backup your server’s C:\inetpub\wwwroot directory
Lets Assuming my current Siebel application is working fine with address as http://localhost/analytics/saw.dll?dashboard

Now I have created two files index.html and move.html as below shown

Index.html

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Frameset//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/frameset.dtd">

<html>

<head><title>My OBIEE Application</title></head>

<frameset rows="0%,100%">

<frame src="" noresize="noresize">

<frame src="move.html">

</frameset>

</html>

move.html
<html>

<Head>

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://localhost/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard">

</head>

</html>

Copy above HTML code into files and save them as index.html and move.html respectively.

Change url=http://localhost/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard to your domain eg: http://ent-reporting/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard or http://ent-reporting:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard i.e., your current working url to be given in this place.

Upload both index.html and move.html into your server’s root directory ..i.e. C:\inetpub\wwwroot

Now access http://servername

Advantages :

Your server is still accessible through old url (http://localhost/analytics/saw.dll?dashboard), so any links referring will not be broken and still accessible.

Simple url, Easy to remember.

Disadvantages :
While Bookmarking a request /Dashboard necessary you have to use right click >Add to favorites. Ctrl+D will not work.

Hope it’s helpful.
